Edinburgh is like a fairy-tale city which has only recently got a modern twist. Its historic, imposing architecture, and cobblestone pathways are complemented by high-street boutiques, chic bars and beautiful boutique hotels.
We clubbed our visit to Edinburgh with a 4-day drive through the Scottish Highlands. Our trip was also coincidentally timed with the rather popular Fringe Festival. As you can imagine, the city was teeming with amazing shows and a whole lot of tourists. But after 4 days of peace and quiet in the highlands, the high-energy of the festival was a welcome change.
The city itself is surprisingly small and can be covered on foot within a few hours. We spent 2 nights here and managed to pack in all that we wanted to do.
