Negril

Cliffs, beaches, jerk chicken, reggae and Red Stripe. Really, what more could one ask for?

Just identifying a Caribbean island can be a daunting task given the number of great options that you have to choose from. Our decision however was driven by an episode on the travel and living channel one rainy Sunday afternoon, showcasing The Caves hotel in Negril. The fact that this hotel was in Bob Marley’s motherland only helped seal the deal.

Negril is a 90-minute drive from the Montego Bay Airport, which has multiple daily flights from all of the larger cities on the East Coast of America. Bear in mind that flights to Jamaica can often feel like an overcrowded Indian train or a freshman party bus and we have had the dubious pleasure of both experiences.

We would recommend spending a minimum of 5 nights in Negril.
